Two weeks ago (Feb. 2015) I was in Venice for the first time and it was during Carnevale di Venezia 2015.
In 2012 when I was on a backpack trip with a friend in Rome, Florence, Pisa & Lucca (Italy 2012) we didn’t make it to Venice. Many people we met and our roommates at the hostels on that backpacking trip were raving about Venice. Therefore I set the city on my long ‘Must-see’ list at that time. Moreover for a long time I had the wish to visit and experience the Carnevale di Venezia because the photos I saw of those people in their elaborate costumes and masks were always fascinating.
In addition to Venice I also visited the islands Burano and Murano. Burano was always captivating with their colourful buildings. When I was a kid I came across photos of Burano for the first time I was hooked and wanted to know where that place is. For me it was like a town build of shiny colourful LEGO bricks. 😉
The visit to all the places and the Carnevale di Venezia didn’t disappoint. I shot 5400 photos and started to post-process them. This is going to take a lot time too. The 6000 photos of China are still in the queue. 😀
Stay tuned. The photos of Carnevale di Venezia, Venice, Burano & Murano will be posted on this blog much earlier than those of China. The reason is there is more stuff to tell about the places of China we visited.
I will split the Venice photos in 4 parts/posts to avoid having too many photos in one single post.
Like the photos of London (STREET PHOTOS IN LONDON) (ARCHITECTURE IN LONDON) (London During Christmas & New Year).
The 4 parts will be like that:
